At the age of 28, I moved to Shimoda, where I often came to surf. Until then, I had been working as an instructor at a members-only sports club in Tokyo. Gradually, I got incline to think about work-life balance. And before long, I decided that it was Shimoda !, no doubt, with the most beautiful ocean. Surfing is my passion, yet after many years' public service at Shimoda City Promotion Corporation, I feel now, obliged to support the well-being of the citizens, especially children.

In Shikine Park, the swimming pool (with heated water), multi-purposed ground, tennis courts and walking paths are located in harmony amidst the greenery, to create the field aimed for health and relaxation. The building of the swimming pool looks like the innermost sanctum of the entire park, if you approach it, having walked from the parking lot and alongside the ground. Ample visor like structures extended outward protected swimmers from eyes of passersby, while wide windows of the pool let in plentiful natural light. Surrounded by the natural environment, visitors can spend luxurious time, exercising in the comfortable pool.
