Outline of the program

There is a variety of large and small driftwood and debris on the beach, including seashells, coral, sea glass, and plastic.
In this craft class, we will learn about marine debris and make things using microplastics.
Microplastics are a major problem when it comes to the marine environment, but we can use them to make cute accessories.
It will also be an opportunity to learn about the SDGs.
When we go to the coast to clean up the beach, we will learn about the ecosystem, including marine life and coastal plants, and stories from beach cleanups, as well as other environmental initiatives.

This class is usually held indoors,
but if the weather and tides are good, we will go to the coast together to visit geosites and enjoy beachcombing.
I'm still learning English, but please feel free to contact us.

Program schedule

In addition to seashells and sea glass, this workshop will also explore microplastics, a topic of concern among beach debris. This is an opportunity to see, touch, and learn about SDGs and waste issues.

Participants will arrange microplastics in silicone molds (animal, fish, round, square, etc.), pour resin into them, and harden them under ultraviolet light. They will then create magnets or hair accessories. (The workshop and craft will take 1-2 hours.)

Popular items include photo frames decorated with seaglass and shells, and herbariums made by placing shells and flowers in glass bottles.

Prices vary (1,500-3,000 yen), so please inquire when making your reservation.

We can also accommodate groups (10-30 people) for study trips, training sessions, and other events.
