Using the abundant natural gifts of Shimoda, you can create a variety of things: seagrass pressing crafts, sea crafts, bamboo crafts, and pottery. You can also create crafts using chirimen fabric in the tranquil homes of the satoyama areas (traditional Japanese communities near mountains).

There is a variety of large and small driftwood and debris on the beach, including seashells, coral, sea glass, and plastic.
In this craft class, we will learn about marine debris and make things using microplastics.
Microplastics are a major problem when it comes to the marine environment, but we can use them to make cute accessories.
It will also be an opportunity to learn about the SDGs.
When we go to the coast to clean up the beach, we will learn about the ecosystem, including marine life and coastal plants, and stories from beach cleanups, as well as other environmental initiatives.
This class is usually held indoors,
but if the weather and tides are good, we will go to the coast together to visit geosites and enjoy beachcombing.
I'm still learning English, but please feel free to contact us.
