Born and grown up in Saitama, but Shimoda was always in my mind like paradise with beautiful sea. My dream to move to Shimoda and live there, has come true. There are a lot of seashells and weeds. I often go to the sea to collect them to display. My reverie watching them lasts for a long time. Fellow craftsmen seek motives for art from nature and make use of natural materials. I was so grateful when I found an ideal property to start the gallery. I imagined a place where people enjoy looking at hand made works.

I asked my grandson, lives in Saitama, what could be the best title for my new gallery & café. Among others, Ao-no-Oasobi (play with blue) most impressed. The signboard with beautiful blue, hung outside, with unique fishes and other creatures in it, he produced for me. There are art pieces of ceramic, glass, wood print and resin art displayed inside, for the fun of leisurely guests, who happen to enter and ask me about routes. I feel delighted to watch friendly encounter between guests and craftsmen who happen to make a brief visit. I'm willing to try to produce workshops, which guest can participate in.
